Damaged FPC Connector again? Wondering what you are doing wrong? Don’t worry you are not alone. I have damaged a few iPad Mini 2nd Gen FPC connectors. Even though it didn’t really seem like it was  something I did wrong they still break. I have been unplugging and plugging in Screens the same way since I started doing repairs on iPad Mini 1’s. We noticed that many techs have also faced this issue on iPad Mini’s. Many changing the way they are unplugging the Screen only to find themselves still damaging the FPC Connector.

This is a very typical problem that happens with the iPad Mini’s. More so on the iPad Mini 2nd Gen that I have noticed and have replaced many FPC’s on. So don’t beat yourself up over it. The Digitizer connector is more or less just a weak connector that breaks easily. Most of the time you will notice that the pins are lifted up or broken off. The pins could be get stuck onto the Screen Connector and when unplugging the screen it is pulling the Pins from the Connector.

Is your Back Camera Broken or not sure if it is actually broken? There could be a few reasons why your Back Camera has failed and could be Software or Hardware related. The Back Camera on many phones can be sensitive and easily damaged. The Camera has a lot of small internal parts responsible for focusing and how much light goes in. Unlike the Front Camera, the Back Camera is separate on some iPhone and doesn’t have to be removed during a screen replacement.

It is always a good idea to try some software fixes before getting the Back Camera replaced. The first thing to try is to soft reset the phone, sometimes the phone OS glitches. If soft resetting doesn’t work, you can try to restore the phone to factory settings. You will want to make sure to create a Back Up before factory resetting. If neither of these steps works then you may need to get the Camera replaced.

Did you recently have your screen replace, it’s possible that the Camera could have been disconnected by accident. In case of the camera not working after screen replacement, be sure to take the phone to the repair shop. If the screen was broken towards the top, depending on how bad it was it could have hit the back of the camera. Dropping or hitting the phone against hard surfaces can also damage the internal parts of the camera.

The ear speaker may not be damaged, issues could come from software, hardware, or even just dirty.

If ear speaker problems are software related it could have been from a bad update or glitch. Many software issues can be fixed from home as long as you have a computer with iTunes. If the sound is distorted making it sound like static or scratching noises, the speaker will need to be replaced.

You can try cleaning the Ear Speaker hole with an old toothbrush. You can also use something small enough such as the tip of an Exacto knife to scrape away dirt. The Screen on all phones is essentially the same with a few exceptions here and there. On iPhones and Androids, the screen is made up of multiple layers. The three most important are Glass, Digitizer, and LCD. The Digitizer and LCD are essentially fused together so its really one layer, but we will explain why we count them as separate layers. The Digitizer is responsible for touch function and LCD is responsible for displaying an image. Becuase the LCD and Digitizer are fused together, damaging the LCD will cause the touch function no to work. There have been instances where touch function will still work even with a broken LCD. LCD damage will usually show colored spots around the screen and or lines. You can get a broken LCD by simply dropping the phone or even sitting on it.
